Title 24 Services

Title 24

According to the title 24, every building must meet all the building standards before its operations.

California electrical codes act as a safety measure and a way to reduce energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency.

As a Safety Measure

California Title 24 not only ensures buildings are constructed in the right location, but also in the safest manner.

Through the electrical standards, the commission monitors the type of wires used in electricity distribution.

The standards clearly state the size and type of conductors to be used depending on the temperature ratings of its insulators.

The commission through its registered inspectors must verify and ascertain that all the wiring in a building is done properly.

Reduction of Energy Consumption

The California electrical codes regulate the amount of energy to be consumed in every building.

The code determines the number of circuits to be used in every room, be it bedroom, kitchen or bathrooms.

In the kitchen, for example, at least 20A circuits should be provided for receptacles and counter.

The same amount is to be provided in a laundry room.

The code also regulates energy by ensuring lighting is controlled in the buildings.

The standards require that the following locations must have light controlled by at least one wall switch; hallways, all habitable rooms such as living, sleeping, cooking and eating rooms, bathrooms, any attached garage, and outside exterior doors.

The switch must be installed to ensure that electricity used for lighting is controlled.

This regulation ensures that energy provided in the building is the amount required for its effective operations.

The aim of these regulations to reduces any energy wastage in the building.

To Enhance Energy Efficiency

By controlling the amount of energy consumed in every building, the commission ensures every home is provided with an efficient amount of electricity.

Before the introduction of the California Electrical codes, some buildings could not get enough energy amounts as other buildings were using the available electricity amount.

California experiences a high demand of electricity energy because of the high number of both residential and non-residential buildings.

To ensure energy efficiency in all these buildings, the code acts as the best way to ensure even distribution of energy.
